Hammock Gear Top Quilts
Hammock Gear makes some of the highest quality lightweight down top quilts for hammockers and ground dwellers available anywhere. We take pride in our materials, craftsmanship and customer service.
******Now Standard on all topquilts! Integrated attachment points for use with pads******
About the Burrow 20˚
The Burrow works for both hammockers and ground-dwellers alike. It is a lightweight sleeping quilt that takes the insulation of a traditional sleeping bag and puts it all on the top and sides, leaving the back (which insulation is compressed and unusable anyway) open. Many hammockers use top quilts in lieu of a traditional sleeping bag because they are easier to slide into when it's time to sleep. The Burrow is designed with a half taper, foot box and a cinched top. Comes complete with a stuff sack.
The 20° Burrow is the perfect solution for staying warm in a hammock. With a conservative rating of 20°F, and filled with premium quality, water resistant, 850 fill-power Hungarian goose down, it will keep you warm during colder seasons.
Top Quilt Advantages
Having found the Hammock Gear website, chances are you are aware of some of the advantages of top quilts. Their growing popularity, with both the hammock crowd and ground dwellers alike, is due to their function and versatility, especially as compared to traditional mummy-style sleeping bags. Some of these advantages include:
|Fill Weight||11.3 oz||12.0 oz||12.7 oz||12.4 oz||13.2 oz||14.0 oz|
|Total Weight**||16.1 oz||17.3 oz||19.8 oz||19.1 oz||18.7 oz||21.5 oz|
*Indicated lengths are for Snap closure Burrows when they are unsnapped (open) and laying flat. Burrows with sewn footboxes are approximately 4" shorter and are equal in length to a closed Snap Burrow. The standard model is designed to fit persons up to 6' tall.
**Add 0.25oz (7g) to Total Weight for a Half Taper cut.
We utilize the finest 850 fill power, water-resistant goose down on the market in all of our quilts. It is tested and certified by the International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory.
All Hammock Gear quilts are made of ARGON fabric. All ARGON fabric is specifically designed ripstop nylon which is manufactured for Hammock Gear. We offer both 10 and 15 denier weights with certain colors only available in one or the other. ARGON 67 (10d) weighs 0.67oz/square yard while ARGON 90 (15d) weighs 0.90 oz/square yard. It has a Durable Water Resistant (DWR) finish. The DWR not only improves the water resistance of ARGON , it also enhances the fabric by improving overall strength, tightening the weave and thus increasing its down-proofness. Calendaring of the fabric further enhances the down-proofness of the quilt.
All of our quilts (except the Burrow 50) make use of baffle (also known as "box baffle") construction. This means that the seams between the down-filled chambers are not sewn through, but instead consist of a fabric wall about .75 to 3 inches tall, depending on the model. The Burrow 50, the lightest of our Top Quilts, uses sewn-through construction.
At Hammock Gear, we use temperature ratings which are very conservative. Compare them in the marketplace and you will agree. Here is a point we wish to emphasize: the first and most important step you must take when choosing a quilt by temperature is to Know Thyself. Are you a Cold sleeper, a Warm sleeper, or maybe a Really Warm sleeper? Factor this into your selection process and you will be much better off.
Two options are available: Sewn footbox or Snap Footbox. The sewn option is a permanent footbox approximately 20 inches long, measured from the bottom. A sewn footbox is fully enclosed/fully insulated, and thus allows no cold spots. It is recommended for 0° - 20° temps. The Snap version allows the quilt to be fully opened and to lie flat. 5 snaps are used. It is recommended for temps above 20°. When closed the snap version, which has a drawcord closure, has an opening of approximately one inch. Some users, depending on conditions/temps, will use a clothing item or small piece of foam pad to plug this hole. Many HG customers enjoy using their quilts in the home, and love the versatility of using the quilt “blanket style” or as a “throw”, and the snap version fits the bill.
Select your choice of exterior color from our current stock. The color of the interior fabric is your choice of black or charcoal gray.
Our top quilts are built with a standard Half-Taper design. Custom work is available if you have different requirements.
Quilts come standard with attachment cord loops (these can be omitted by request).

I haven't had a chance to use my new Burrow 20 yet so I can't give a very intelligent review. I can say that it looks great and the construction looks first rate. I'll be curious to see if it meets it's temperature rating as it is not as lofty as I had envisioned, but the high quality 850 fill down will probably do it's job as advertised. We'll see....

When researching a product, everyone asks for "What is the Best...."; followed by multiple posts stating various opinions. To me, the Best is the product that rises to the top after waiting, researching and finalizing the entire purchase from beginning to finally using the item on the trail. Included in this experience is the customer service provided when a decision of what product will be bought, has not been made. Adam, Jenny, Harry and the entire operation work to answer questions and help "Backpackers" prior to becoming customers. They are passionate about what they do, and the role they play in providing quality gear for the industry. The 1st thing I heard about HG was positive, my 1st email questions were handled positively, and every time I stopped by the Website, it was a positive experience. After awhile, I was positive that HG would get my business. Now that I have used my Burrow, I am positive that it is the "Best" 20º TQ on the market.

First off my burrow 20 is gorgeous. I was expecting loose threads, frayed edges or something flawed with this quilt. To my surprise it looked better than anything you could buy at a retailer. The work on it is absolutely incredible. I got the 20 degree because I wanted to use it during cool GA winters and warmer summers because I don't have the money for more than one. I just used it on a night that probably got in the 60s and it performed beautifully of course. Can't wait to see how it does in the 20s with that extra ounce of down. Don't have any doubts when shopping here. The wait was about 3 weeks I believe but worth it! You have to be patient for such a beautiful piece.

I first ordered my under quilt deciding to hold off on the additional investment of the top quilt. After seeing the tremendous quality of the under quilt I knew I had to order my top quilt. I got the incubator and burrow. They are both unbelievable! Great craftmanship, attention to even the littlest detail down to the last thread. All I can say is I'm glad I ordered both. As a matter of fact when I placed my second order for the top quilt, I ordered a pillow. Even the pillow was extremely well made. My first hang was during cold temps. It must have been the final cold snap of winter because the temps dipped down to the low 20's. I didn't know it till I got out of my hammock. I was nice and warm and toasty. I would definitely recommend hammock gear for their great customer service as well as their products for the great quality and truly professional craftmanship.

I did a lot of research for several months before deciding on the quilt I wanted. It came down to a couple of companies but the price and the outstanding customer service made it an easy decision. Not only that but compared to other companies with similar products I was told a 4-8 week wait for an order from several companies. HG told me no more than 2 weeks and when I ordered it I got it in 1 week from placing my order for 2 quilts. The Burrow 20 is really nice and the quality is fantastic. I would highly recommend the quilt and the company. Seriously though the customer service puts everyone else to shame. They will bend over backwards to answer questions quickly and get your needs met. Great job HG

Used with NX-250 Clark Jungle Hammock with a slightly deflated air pad. We hit 24 degrees one night and 22 the next. No chill at all. This is my first quilt. I love the freedom of movement the quilt provides. Slept great. Also, unbelievably light. I will not be going back to a sleeping bag.
by Bill – 19th Apr 2015
Just used it for the first time. Super lightweight and very warm, it was only 36 but very windy, I was toastie and slept in lol.Great quality, and a super value. I'll defenitely buy again.
by Brian – 15th Apr 2015
I ordered the Burrow 20 + 1 oz of overstuff in a Long/Wide. It is now my favorite bit of gear. It is beautifully made, not a stitch out of place. The down is evenly dispersed and thus far on nights that have hovered in the low twenties I was maybe a little too warm--not complaining. Adam and Jenny are great people to work with. I own bags from Feathered Friends and Western Mountaineering and the workmanship on my Burrow is just as good, if not better. I also have an Incubator 20 and I will soon add a Burrow 40 (+overfill). I could not be happier.
by Parker Davis – 15th Apr 2015
Quality construction, great customer service, quick turnaround and fast shipment. I'll be a returning customer for certain. The only thing I would suggest is they include a cinch cord for the d-rings in the back opening...and maybe some instruction as to how they are intended to be used. Also, why not offer a zipper for an additional cost? Could be a cool option for people not so sure about the quilt format, and would make for some serious competition for the zpacks sleeping bags. Thanks again though! I love my quilt and will be recommending it to friends and fellow backpackers.
by lev – 12th Apr 2015
Exceeds expectations. When i first got it, it didn't look like much. I thought maybe i got the wrong item. It was too light and flimsy to be warm.
I upgraded from a cheap synthetic closeout sleeping bag. What a difference. I got the Burrow 20 with 2oz of overstuff. I've had this out in damp, rainy, 40 degree weather and was snuggly warm. I am sure it would be cozy down to 20 just like it claims to be.
I appreciate the attachment points for lashing it down to a sleeping pad if you need to go to ground. I use a length of small-gauge shock cord to lace the back up around a sleeping pad. Quilts work better than bags for side sleepers anyway. Breathing into the side of a bag's hood was always awkward.
I recommend getting a Long even if you don't need the extra height. It provides more ruffle to get around your shoulders. I also recommend getting a bright color for the interior so you can see which is which in the dark.
by Canaduck – 9th Apr 2015
Package just arrived in the mail. At first, I thought it was a mistake and that the box was empty since it was so light. It seems warmer than expected too
by Don Milligan – 4th Apr 2015
I must say Hammock gear is a very pleasant shop to order from, even during their busy times, communication was excellent, and everyone knows the pricing is very fair.
This quilt: camo out, black in, standard length, wide, with 4 oz of extra down is very warm I'm guessing it's more of a 10-15F and I use it as a ground dweller on a TAR x-lite.
My wishing HG would make: hoods that I could wear with the TQ, so HG if you need a test dummy you know where to reach me.
by Sardog1 – 2nd Apr 2015
Yup, they did it again... Outstanding design, trademark supurb quality and reasonable turnaround time. Minutes after I opened the Incubator and saw how nice it was, I ordered the Burrow. The woodland camo and burnt orange combination is a winner in my book. They just naturally go well together. Looking forward to my first hang surrounded by downy goodness!
Would be nice if HG offered cotton storage sacks for their quilts... Hint, hint.

I received my quilt (Titanium Gray outer, Burnt Orange inner 1 oz overstuff) and immediately put it to use. I fluffed it up from the compression of shipping, layed it out on the hammock in basement, turned on the Penguins game, and quickly was enveloped by my body's heat being efficiently trapped and radiated back at me. It wasn't long until I was sound asleep (the game was a 0-0 tie heading into the 3rd period... kinda boring). Thanks Hammock Gear for another great quality item.
by Todd Shaver – 26th Mar 2015
Looking for a lighter more packable option when my 3-season synthetic bag wore out, I researched a lot of down sleeping bag options. I finally decided on a quilt, and after lots of research I found the Hammock Gear quilt. This quilt has SPECTACULAR features for its price point! No where else can you find a 20F bag with 850 hydrophobic down for less than $350+. As far as quality, I've taken it out now for a few weekend trips and I love it! It seems kind of flat when first unstuffed, but given a bit of time, it is incredibly voluminous. I've cowboy camped with a few times also, and in the morning the bag is just COVERED with dew, but the bag doesn't flatten or get soggy, and dries out in minutes once the sun's out. It packs SO SMALL and is SO LIGHT. The fabric is very lightweight, but I am careful with my gear, so we'll see how it holds up.
by Paul – 20th Mar 2015
This is my second 20 degree Burrow - the first becoming a present to my housemate so she can leave the bulky sleeping bag at home.
I got the Wide option (large shoulders) and just that extra makes it easy to tuck in, with no gaps, and stay covered with usual position adjustment.
The temperature range allows it be used from early spring to all but the warmest summer nights, to late fall. With the addition of a down sweater it could serve well into winter.
If I were to add one feature, it would be a little pocket (just a layer of fabric) to stuff the head draw cord into.
Though I have a HG TQ for all three temperature ranges (0/20/40), if I had to pick just one, it would be a Burrow 20.
by Shabazz – 19th Mar 2015
I cannot be more happy with my Burrow 20. I have used it in combination with Phoenix 20 And it has been amazing. Top quality all the way! Used them down to mid 20s and was HOT! I usually sleep cold, but not anymore. Thanks Hammock Gear!
by Jason from South Jersey – 19th Mar 2015
Had the pleasure of purchasing a few things from Hammock Gear over the years, and every experience I've ever had with them has been perfect. From their customer service, to their communication, to their FANTASTIC quality work on their products themselves, I have only positive things to say about them.
I recently purchased a Burrow 20* top quilt with an ounce of overstuff, and the sewn footbox. Amazing quality! I got stuck out in a snow storm in the Linville Gorge about a month ago in which the temperature unexpectedly dropped into the teens and dumped 6 inches of snow on me. My Burrow 20* and Incubator 20* kept me toasty warm all night. In my humble opinion, they are the best under quilt and top quilt you can buy; no joke. If you're on the fence, pull the trigger; you won't be disappointed, I assure you.
by Unknown – 19th Mar 2015
My first top quilt. I am coming from 15+ years of mummy bags, and I am loving the Burrow. It is super warm very light weight, very well built. After measuring and re-measuring I ordered the short. The fit is great. The sizes are true to the website. It was 2 ounces heavier 19 oz. (I don mind) I also ordered the snaps and I am really glad I did. The foot end bunches up super tight. Right now it is actually warmer than I need and it is nice to open it up and cool off. I have no fear of the snaps tearing out. It really is working out better than I had thought.
I am excited to get more field time in with the new quilt.

Just getting into Hammock camping in the PNW. In 25 deg i was as warm as toast and slept like a baby. Can not say enough good about hammock gear and their products. I now own a tarp and under quilt from Adam. Thanks to you all
by Lindsey – 10th Mar 2015
I've been using this quilt for a bit less than a year, and have thus far gotten to use it on several backcountry trips in differing conditions. Most recently, I used it on an overnight to Joshua Tree National Park here in California, where there was a nice cold wind that picked up late in the evening. Since we ere camping on stone, and since it was a clear night, we had opted not to use the rain fly on your tent. I found that even while sleeping in a tent that was mostly mesh, that I didn't even notice the breeze through the burrow 20 AND I stayed nice and cozy the entire night. One piece of advice I would give people is to absolutely utilize the attachment points to keep the quilt securely fastened over the pad. When it starts to actually get cold out, there's nothing more unpleasant than shifting around and letting a nice draft of cold air into your quilt. Using the attachments with straps (either the ones they sell, or just make your own) you can shift around while still keeping the sides of the quilt secure. One thing I dislike about this quilt: the string used to cinch the top collar hangs directly in your face sometimes, if you choose to pull the top over your head on cold nights.

This is my second quilt from Adam and Co. I am quite impressed with their customer service and product excellence. Each time I've made a purchase, the quilt has arrived earlier than expected. The build quality is first-rate and the functionality of the quilt is nearly flawless. I just took the Burrow out for an overnighter and it kept me toasty at temps near or below the rating of 20 degrees. The quilt is very comfortable and the fabric seems capable of withstanding quite a bit of use. I look forward to my next purchase, a cuben fiber tarp. I know it will be an exceptional bargain like everything else produced by these folks. I cannot recommend a company any higher!
by Paul Shepherd – 6th Mar 2015
Purchased: Burrow 20 long/wide w/no taper, Incubator 0+4oz, pillow
These items are not only exactly what I ordered but also all I hoped them to be. They are PERFECT. I am now trying to decide what to buy next as a result...probably a summer UQ. The Customer Service was excellent, as expected. I love how I was able to order what I wanted....materials, shape of TQ, extra draft tube for foot box cinch...
Thanks for a great product!!
by Bigfoot – 3rd Mar 2015
This has to be one of the best quilts on the market, with as many options that come with on how you want to secure it to you. I decided to purchase a 20 degree burrow with one ounce of overstuff and a button up foot box. This is a very warm quilt and i highly recommend this one over any other. So if you're in the market and need a quilt this is the one go get.
by Aaron – 26th Feb 2015
Once I received my Burrow 20 I was elated to feel how durable and light weight it was even with the 4 ounce extra fill. I was using synthetic sleeping bags for a number of years; they are cumbersome, and do not compress well at all. This quilt is the best purchase for my gear set yet! How well it compresses is simply amazing! I will be back to purchase from Hammock Gear in the near future!
by mark c. – 16th Feb 2015
Totally impressed by the craftsmanship and quality and so very very light weight and warm. I am happy. Thanks
by Unknown – 4th Feb 2015
Just today (Feb 3rd) I set up my hammock to try out this top quilt. I stayed out for 2 hours. The temp went from 24 to 17. This top quilt, along with a 20 degree incubator, kept me warm and cozy.
Happiness is a 20 degree quilt that actually keeps you warm at 20 degrees. (I did add an ounce of overstuff)

Finally got tired of fidgeting with a sleeping bag in a hammock. Ordered a Burrow 20 right after Christmas. A couple of weeks later, decided to shoot an e-mail to see if it might be ready before my next AT section hike. The folks at Hammock Gear went above-and-beyond to get it to me in time. The construction quality is fantastic. At first, I was concerned with the cinch pull around the neck being in the center. I thought it would bother me. However, I discovered that in the middle of the night, when the trees need watering, the last thing you want to be doing is be searching for that cinch string. Being in the middle, it's very easy to find. Went out last night in the upper 20s. That neck cinch makes a huge difference keeping heat in. I am amazed that something so lite provides so much insulating ability. I got the largest size with the sewn footbox. Couldn't be happier.
by Carl – 28th Dec 2014
Couldn't be happier with the Incubator UQ and TQ!
Reviews speak for the product, excellent company.
No problem with 24 degrees, nice and warm. Extremely happy with purchase!
by Iain Brown, Waiouru, New Zealand – 20th Dec 2014
I used my Burrow top quilt along with the Phoenix UQ the other night in one of the most remote cold spots in the North Island of New Zealand - Waiouru. The night wasn't cold which made the versatility of the quilt set up so much better than the sleeping bag that I had been using previously. The quilt was soft and light and beautiful to sleep in and the volume and weight savings as against a sleeping bag were massive - the bottom and top quilts together were less than two thirds the volume and weight if the old sleeping bag.
The craftsmanship on both the Burrow and Phoenix is fantastic. I trialled a competitors product before I made the commitment and I have to say the HG product is way better.
by Connie Dodson – 3rd Dec 2014
Excellent design, materials, and beautifully stitched Burrow 20, paired with the NeoAir XTherm, this is the warmest "sleep system" for weight and volume.
If you know something better, speak up.
by jeremy – 23rd Nov 2014
talked and laughed with adam for about 45 mins on the phone and he was more than happy to answer all of my questions about the TQ and UQ. So i put my order in on monday and received it on friday, it was a late notice for adam and everyone at hammock gear but they pushed it through and got it to me before my trip through the smokies that coming weekend!!!! And when it got here i grabbed the package and was like oh no this isnt good its way to lite to have everything i ordered in here! But oh no, everything was in the box!! I couldnt beleive how lite the burrow and incubator were! The burrow and incubator worked flawlessly that weekend! It got down to 25 that weekend at night and i actually slept in for the first time out in the smokies!! So hammock gear has me as a customer for life! Thank you adam and jenny and everyone at hammock gear!!
by Brendan – 22nd Nov 2014
I ordered the standard Burrow 20 with snap closure. I emailed Hammock Gear and they put a rush on my order to so that I could receive it before an upcoming trip (with no added cost). My experience with their customer service was fantastic, and my experience with the product has been great as well.
My quilt has been awesome throughout extremely wet trips, and I have been impressed with its warmth. There is no comparable product on the market in this price range - it's a solid choice.
by Mitch – 19th Nov 2014
Wow - what can I say. I took the bag out for a 2 nighter (tent, not hammock) with lows into the teens. I ordered 2 oz's of overfill in my burrow just to be safe. I also went with the snaps to provide more flexibility with the quilt year round. First, it performed great. I wasn't cold at all, but there are a few things that are a must and a few more I'd recommend. (1) make sure you have a good way to plug up the hole at the bottom of the bag when snapped. I had my jacket fall out of place a few times and you really lose heat fast. (2) if you are on the ground plan ahead for a way to attach your pad to the quilt - I really wish HG had provided some small clips and bungee line, but I'm adding that myself. (3) if I had the option I would have snaps all the way up the bag. Yes it would have added a little weight, but the ability to snap the whole bag up and not worry about it flapping open in the night when you are ground sleeping would be worth it. Overall the bag is exceptional. I search around to find the perfect stuff sack. I found an 11.3 liter rectangle sil stuff sack that fits the bag perfectly and nestles neatly into my bag. I'm excited to add this piece of kit and have no regrets.
by sunfish – 16th Nov 2014
WOW! Tested it in 30 F and stayed toasty. I was nervous about ordering the short version, as I thought I might need that extra length for added warmth (and security??). But I am committed to dropping my pack weight and space occupation every bit I can, so I bravely ordered the short. I had NO problems being completely covered with room to spare on my 5'6 frame. The snaps are extra strong, so sleep kicking did not unsnap the footbox snaps. The snap around the neck was comfortable; actually, I never noticed it, and it really keeps the quilt around your shoulders.
At one point, I actually got too warm and flipped a "corner" off my shoulder for ventilation. I got the charcoal grey interior and burnt orange exterior. LOVE my color choices! Recommend the snaps and 1 oz down overfill. The fabric is durable and handles the stress of pushing and packing and unpacking in my pack so far. (Only owned it a little over a month now.) I will definitely order another one for my little camping buddy - grandson.
by Adam – 15th Nov 2014
Though I have only had the Burrow out on one trip, I already know it is worth the investment. Temps dipped below 20 and I stayed warm. If you are a bigger guy (more than 6 ft. 210) splurge on the extra room. The standard size was almost to small. The fabric is super light weight and seems prone to puncture, so take care of it! It will definitely take care of you.
by Will (Savage) Fink – 14th Nov 2014
So far, I've only had the opportunity to test this in the high 20's to low 30's. I was plenty warm! This is my fourth quilt from HG - with each one I've taken it a full 10 degrees below it's rating comfortably. I have no doubt the Burrow 20 will perform just as well - and I'll have many opportunities this coming winter to fully test it. Thanks as always Adam and Jenny!
by Ethan Young – 13th Nov 2014
I slept in this burrow 20 in a hammock for a few nights and then used it on the ground for a spell. Temp was in the low 30's F. Awesome. I have several top quilts from other makers. They're all good but this one is my favorite. Love the customization. Note: I am 6'1" and 200 lbs. I don't how you could get by with anything but the long / wide version of this.
by John Gray – 31st Oct 2014
I did a lot of research and I went with this top quilt. Im very glad I made this choice. High quality product. I went out last week on a section hike on the AT and the temps were colder then expected. They were in the low to mid 30s all week and never got cold with this quilt. Highly recommend! Also great customer service! You will not receive better customer service any where else.
by Magnus – 29th Oct 2014
Only had the chanse to use it down to lower 30 and it was hot, im a hot sleeper so im looking forward using this in cold swedish winter.
Love the Colors, much niceer then in pictures, perfect stiching

I ordered this TQ with the optional 5" width (I'm a big feller). It is so roomy, warm and comfortable. It also have very good design elements. The footbox has a drawstring that allows you to adjust for ventilation. I ordered my footbox with snaps so that it can also be opened to use as a blanket. The top had a snap that allows you to connect the top cornets of the quilt to keep it pulled up over your shoulders and around your neck. The top opening also has a shock cord drawstring that allows you to adjust this opening for comfort and ventilation.
by Richard – 25th Oct 2014
I spent a lot of time deciding on a TQ. After 50+ years of casual camping, retirement has given me the opportunity to pursue this pastime a little more seriously. Finally, my first down item!!
I considered all the vendors I could find, comparing weight, design, quality, cost, reputation, etc. There are a lot of good vendors out there but I ended up getting the 20* burrow from HG.
I wanted to get some cold weather testing done but the weather so far has not got below 37*. But I wanted to write a short review in case anyone was undecided about sizes.
So - If you are looking at sizes - I am 6'5", 200#, and use this TQ in a bridge hammock. I had questions about length and temp recommendations so contacted HG by email (twice) and got helpful replies very quickly.
I bought the 'long' length and the 'regular' width with a snap foot box. The TQ has plenty of length for me and would probably still be fine for someone 2" - 3" taller. The regular width is ample and for my slim build and arrow hammock it is perfect.
I could not be more pleased with my HG purchase. I was very comfortable at the temps i have been to so far. Maybe I will have the option of adding to this review at a later date when cooler weather arrives.

Awesome quilt with great customer service. This quilt is light weight and warm, all I could ask for and more.
by Dave H (Utah) – 6th Oct 2014
I ordered a Burrow 20 standard/wide. This company is great. I had a trip that I wanted to use this quilt on and they expedited the order for me so that it was at my door the day that I was leaving! I had a chance to use it in 20 degrees and once I figured out how to use it I was nice and toasty. I've use it about 4 or 5 times and I'm pretty stoked on it. If I had to do it again however I would have ordered the long. I'm 5'11 and I like to pull my blankets up over my head. With the standard that is difficult.
by glitchjunkie – 24th Sep 2014
It's been a year since I received this from the wonderful HG folks.. it as been used on many trips from back country to the epitome of car camping and has been wonderful in all of the situations it came upon. I use it quite frequently around the house even.. so much so that it is as close to a security blanket as this grown man gets. Highly recommended.
by Kirk Mory – 17th Sep 2014
I decided to buy one for my son, since I've enjoyed mine so much. Great product, I've ordered a 40* TQ and Phoenix, this will be my third setup. Great job Adam!
by Walt – 12th Sep 2014
Working with HammockGear has been very nice.. I'd ordered 2 weeks before my trip, and after the first week, inquired on if it would make it on time. The folks at HG were able to expedite my quit and get it to me in time, which include a long weekend holiday! The bag itself is very warm, and light, saving me 2 lbs on my old synthetic bag. The fabric is also very soft and comfy. I am very glad I ordered this, and will likely be upgrading my synthetic underquilt to a HG down. Its light, comfortable, and warm. What more can you ask?

I was about to pull the trigger on a quilt from Enlightened Equipment. While I am sure I would have been happy with their product, I am super glad I found Hammock Gear instead.
The burrow 20° is so well made! I have spent the better part of three years trying to find what I wanted. High quality down and material was just something I required due to all my research. Once I know what is the best, I have a hard time settling for less.
HG quilts are too notch. I will be purchasing a cuben fiber tarp and an underquilt as soon as I can! This stuff is on point. Great job.

I'm very happy with my wide Burrow 20°. I got mine with a sewn footbox and an extra ounce of fill. Coverage is great and it's so soft and warm. I went with Argon 90 inside and out for durability. Love the black outside with orange inside that I choose. The orange is a little darker and more brown that halloween orange. It's a beautiful color.

Great service from cottage industry. This was too warm for this summer I ended up sleeping naked during my trip. But if the temp drops more I'm ready for it!
by Stephanie – 5th Aug 2014
My first quilt. I took it on a two week trip on the Tahoe Rim Trail this July. I got the 20 degree quilt with 2oz overfill. It ended up being too warm for me, so I used it more like a blanket. For someone who is often too cold, being too warm isn't a complaint! I am really happy with this product and can't wait to test it out in colder weather.
by Brady – 4th Jul 2014
This is not my first quilt. It's not my lightest. But it's definitely my favourite! I've messed around with trying to dial in my perfect set of quilts for the last two years and I think I've finally found them. This 20°F Wide Burrow is about as perfect as I could imagine. With the range of conditions I face living on the West Coast of Canada I feel confident this will handle whatever I throw at it. Plus it matches my Phincubator!
by Rich Churcher – 29th Jun 2014
So light. So warm. A perfect complement for my much-beloved Incubator.
by MileHighHanger – 20th Jun 2014
I ordered the Burrow with Camo outside and Orange inside and it looks awesome. It came just in time for a three day trek along the Colorado Trail, and performed flawlessly. Packs down nice and small, fluffs up nice and big, and definitely kept me nice and warm. Temps barely got into the 30's, so I was sleeping in just my skivvies with their Incubator beneath me and the Burrow on top. Couldn't have asked for a better quilt. My buddy that I went with was a little jealous, and might be placing an order here soon. :) Any referral bonuses?? :)
Great work Jenny and Adam! Thanks a bunch!

I absolutely would not go back to a synthetic or sleeping bag system after using the 20 degree burrow TQ with 20 degree incubator UQ. HG makes a beautiful quilt that works perfectly I have lightened my load and become much more comfortable at camp the temperature rating is accurate and I was comfortable at 25 degrees. Only problem it doesn't fix is having to get up and pee but it makes the process much easier than a bag. I highly recommend . I myself will be a returning customer I Guarantee It.
by John – 17th Jun 2014
Too warm here to use my new 20* Burrow till fall but as expected great workmanship makes this a quilt to be proud of and I look forward to keeping warm with it in Pa's spring and fall months. Thanks to HG for quickly filling my order! Will be back for an Incubator later!!!
by Wayne Panther – 10th Jun 2014
When I opened my box (small box for what's inside) the burro was everything I have come to expect from HammockGear. Top quality stitching and materials. No shortcuts! It is obvious that this is gear made by hangers. And the customer service (Adam & Jenny) are top notch! So, go ahead and hit that BUY button now! You'll be so glad you did. Happy Trails and Whoooo Buddy!!!

As someone who does not live in the USA and not much options as quilts go, I was very pleased when I discovered HammockGear.
From order to arrival took less than 2 weeks to Norway, which I think is pretty impressive. The service before ordering could also not be better.
I have tested the quilt recently, in the early Norwegian summer where the nights can go down to 40 degrees and I did not need to put on any layers. The only reason I can not give it 5 stars is that I have yet to test it in the extreme ranges of the temp. limit.
The quilt wraps itself nicely around your body and rarely will any air get through.
As almost everyone here have stated the quilts are of exceptional build quality and ultra-lightweight.
If you are looking for a new quilt you can't go wrong with HammockGear!
by Ben – 19th May 2014
Got this guy in the mail and couldn't be happier with it. Took a little time to arrive but this was expected from a smaller company. Have used it all over form the high mountains to open plains with large temperature and weather variation. I have the 20 degree rating quilt and it is pretty accurate with its temp rating. Would suggest layering pretty well once you get below 30 degrees F. Really happy with the quilt and would recommend it. Has stood up well to three straight weeks of abuse.

I am taking a trip soon and of course waited too long to make up my mind on a quilt. I decided to go with the Burrows 20 based on the recommendation of a friend who owned one. That being said I wanted some time to be able to use it before I left and I put it in the comments when I ordered. They were so accommodating in getting this and an under quilt out to me within 2 days! Thanks for the great service guys!!
As far as the quilt goes, I would find it hard to beat the quality of this one. This is my first quilt and it kept me real warm the first night I used it. I will be back to get my Burrows 0 for the winter well. You guys have a happy and definite repeat customer for sure.
by mark – 15th May 2014
I ordered the 20 degree Burrow top quilt, and because i had wanted to go camping in 2 weeks i asked if i could get my top quilt in time to go, i had my quilt in less then a week, the workmanship is great and yes, its a wonderful top quilt.
by Robin in Charlotte – 14th May 2014
First let me say the people at Hammcok Gear are fantastic! Not only did they take the time to answer all of my questions, they processed the order in record time and got it shipped to me in time to use it for the first backpacking trip of the season.
Even more fantastic than the customer service is the quality of the products themselves. The TQ is deceptively light yet so warm! It seems inconceivable that something so light can be so warm and it packs down nothing in a compression bag. When I first received it I wasn't convinced that it would be enough to keep me warm but I was wrong. I've used it twice now in colder temperatures than what was expected and it's performance was flawless. I highly reccommend this quilt. You won't be disappointed!
by HoosierDaddy – 12th May 2014
After some discussion with Adam on the phone I decided to go with a standard length 20 degree incubator with 2 oz overfill and a standard length, wide width 20 degree burrow with 1 oz overfill. He mentioned he had some burnt orange fabric so I went with it and black for contrast. They turned out awesome! Finally got to use them a few weekends ago and I could not have been happier or more comfortable with the results. The first night was windy and in the mid thirties - I was toasty!! I actually vented the underquilt a bit. The second night was in the 50's - my wife was cold the first night so I traded my TQ for her sleeping bag and I was still toasty using just the UQ primarily. I would recommend HG. Adam's reassurance that he would make it right if what I ordered didn't work for me was the clincher for me. I will be ordering more products soon for my wife as she also is in love with the downy warmth the Burrow provided. :-) Thanks Adam!!!
by charliev – 9th May 2014
I really like this TQ. GREAT WORKMANSHIP, stiching is truly remarkable. The argon fabric is so soft you won't believe it. The quilt is so warm and light weight you will wonder why you waited to get yours. Also very pleased with the customer relations. Could not be happier.
by Don Root – 8th May 2014
Beautiful workmanship, appearance, function. But I have yet to put it through the paces I intend it for. Heading out for 1,000 or more miles on the PCT in a week or two. Will write a more detailed review when I get back.
by hannah roberts – 7th May 2014
These are so much better for hammock camping than a sleeping bag. I stay very warm and comfortable with the quilt and the workmanship is top knotch. They have excellent customer service as well and make great gear that extends hammock season to year round.
by Brian – 2nd May 2014
I bought this because I receintly switched to a hammock and wanted to upgrade my well used 20 degree synthetic sleeping bag. When I got this the quality and attention to detail was obvious. Very well made and packs down very small. I looked at several other quilt makers and I am glad that I went with hammockgear. I had a chance to try this for to nights here in Georgia with my eno hammock and zero degree underquilt. Although the temperature only got down to the low 50s, I feel like the quilt will easilly take me into the 20s with no problem. I will be ordering from hammock gear very soon.
by Ghostbuster – 29th Apr 2014
I am an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker this year. This is one of the best purchases I made so far. The price is remarkable considering how light, warm and comfortable the burrow is. Most summer bags are not even this light. Put it in a compression sack, and the volume is tiny. My only complaint is that, as a violent sleeper, I have begun to tear the buttons from the of the foot box. Could use reinforcement at those points.
On an 18 Fahrenheit night with snow and heavy wind (the kind that roars in the trees, steals your balance, and cuts through clothing), I spilled water all over myself in my hammock. No idea what wind chill was. Hazardous situation, but the 20 burrow and incubator combo along with a space blanket, some warm clothes and a POS (worthless) air mattress allowed me to get some sleep, even feel warm at times. Disaster averted. Other than this, hypothermia was never a worry and I was almost always comfy.
by Malkus – 28th Apr 2014
I ordered a burrow 20 and kept everything standard.
First use was a 32 degree night and was extremely happy. This product is well made and even though I went with standard options the availability to customize almost anything is really great.
by Mike Mara – 21st Apr 2014
I finally had a chance to use my quilt while hammock camping in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina in mid-April. Temps during the nights dropped to low 30s. Water did not freeze, but plenty of frozen condensation in my tarp. I slept with lightweight long sleeve shirt and long bottoms and was perfectly warm most of the night. In the very early morning hours I had to get up to pump bilges and got pretty chilled. I pulled on a hat and a fleece top then crawled back into my hammock to warm back up. I really liked the snap closure at the top of the quilt for holding the blanket around my torso. The quilt packs down to the size of a volleyball. I love this thing and highly recommend it to fellow tree dwellers.

Just received my Burrow 20 w 1 oz overfill today. I won't be able to give it a field test for a couple of months, but I've just poured over every stitch, snap, and draw cord. So well made, such a great design, and such a great price!
by Pizza – 16th Apr 2014
I am very happy with my 20 degree Burrow. Excellent design and quality and the Argon fabric and color choices are great. When it comes time to purchase additional quilts to my arsenal I will continue to do business with Hammock Gear. They have excellent customer service and the delivery times are very good. I rate Hammock Gear products at the very top end of the scale. I highly recommend.
by Henry Thomas – 7th Apr 2014
Just got back from the BWCA on the ground. Used my new 20 degree top quilt with 2 extra oz of fill in 20 degree plus or minus weather and I was warm and it met all of my expectations. I would highly recommend hammock gear for any down quilts or Cuben tarps. I use them all.
by Sergey – 29th Mar 2014
Well, i've recently received my burrow 20 degree quilt but haven't used it yet. I lookes very nice, I can assure you that it is very well made, it is a high quility product. The green color is also very pleasant and lookes even better than on the picture.
I'm pretty happy now. Thanks for Adam and Jenny!
by Scott Harrell – 28th Mar 2014
Finally got the chance to take out the Burrow TQ and it was great! I was in the Three Ridges area on the AT last night with 6-12 inches of snow on the ground in places. It got down to 29 degrees but I stayed toasty in the Burrow. I wore 1 pair of ankle high wool socks, poly pro bottoms, poly pro top and I couldn't have been warmer. If you are thinking about it just do it. Thanks HG for an excellent piece of gear.
by PhiDelt496 – 26th Mar 2014
The burrow is an amazing top quilt. Everything is finished to perfection. And it is warm. I always wondered of the advantages of a top quilt vs the sleeping bag that I already owned. Within five minutes of unpacking the Burrow, I knew that this was going to be so much easier. My only regret is that I did not order the short version. I am 5'10 and easily have two baffles empty below my feet.
by Kallengar – 17th Mar 2014
Very happy with my new quilt in Argon Black and Chocolate brown. When I first took it out of it's stuffsack I felt like a magician, extracting an impossible amount of volume from a small space. Thank you, I appreciate all the hard work and obvious attention to detail, not to mention the reasonable price. It's just what I wanted.
by Alia B. – 10th Mar 2014
My quilt is my favorite peice of gear. I was amazed at the customer service Adam offered and the willingness to customize a quilt that will fit my extra small frame. I am also amazed at the craftsmanship. All the materials, design, functions, EVERYTHING is sleek, simple, practical, featherlight, warm and cozy. I woke up clammy in this cinched down quilt at upper 30's, but it was easy to open up a little and vent back to a comfortable level.
It felt like a dream quilt when I first found out about the HammockGear Burrow, and it's a dream in real life/use, too. I could not be happier as it is the perfect combination of all the features I was looking for (plus the top snap/drawcord are just genius). Thank you soooooooooooooo much for this quilt. It's everything I wanted, and I was even able to afford it!
by danny slaughter – 4th Mar 2014
I have had a chance to use this for 6 nights now , temps in the low thirtys ,very warm ,if you are on the fence about a over quilt take my advice jump this way . You will be glad you did.
by Carlos – 3rd Mar 2014
I ordered this 20 degree burrow from HammockGear on the day after Christmas and it came in just in time for a trip I had scheduled. I have been able to try it out on three separate occasions now. Once in the 30s, once in the 20s and lastly once in the teens with a lot of wind so I am sure it felt more like single digits. I was perfectly comfortable in the two within its range and survived better than I anticipated on the lower end of the scale. I would definitely recommend this quilt as it is high quality and worth far more than what they are priced at. Call Adam and speak with him as he will guide you in the right path to find something to meet your needs.

I must say, I'm shocked! This thing is higher quality than anything I have seen at REI or the Columbia Sportswear Employee Store (Mountain Hardware). Very, very impressed with the quality. Most importantly, it keeps me cozy warm. I have used it down to 22 degrees thus far and I'm extremely happy (and warm)!
My burrow was stuffed with an extra 2 oz of down, and the color scheme is absolutely beautiful! The outside is black and the inside is dark grey. It looks and feels amazing!
If you are debating on whether or not to order from Hammock Gear, stop debating and push the button... I own a 20 degree Burrow, a 20 degree Incubator Under Quilt (with 2 extra oz of down), and a 40 degree Phoenix Under Quilt (stock fill). I also bought the standard Cuben Fiber Tarp with Doors in Camo color.
Everything I have purchased thus far from Hammock Gear has been of the highest quality imaginable. My next purchase will be a 40 or 50 degree burrow for warm summer nights.
That said... Go for it! Place your order... You will be extremely satisfied!
by Mark P – 14th Feb 2014
I'm a 6-3 ground sleeper. Got a long, wide, 2 oz overstuff. Beautiful. Good length, even with the toe cord pulled tight. And when I snap the top, put my head through, and stretch out, it pulls the bag down along both sides of me, eliminating the gaps I had with previous quilts. Nice.
by Tim Czarkowski – 13th Feb 2014
I have only used it a couple nights but is very warm and well made. It also was able to resist some very heavy condensation while camping next to a large prairie after several days of continuous rain. I think I'll be getting a second one for my wife.
by Kyle – 6th Jan 2014
I got this in the long/wide/half-taper version with 3 extra ounces of down filling. I've slept comfortably in it down to 14-degrees in a hammock with just a tarp over it. I'm 6'1" tall and the tall version lets me pull it up around my ears or over my head.
I'm 220 lbs and the wide/half-taper lets me sleep on the ground on a pad and gives me enough quilt to keep the drafts out.
Great product - my best sleep solution yet for down to 20.
by George Carr – 2nd Jan 2014
I sold my favorite down sleeping bag in order to buy a Burrow 20. Last weekend I went on an overnight with night time temps in the mid 20's. I was a little worried because this top quilt is sooooo light. My fears were unfounded as I wound up stripping down layers and ventilating a little. This is an awesome piece of gear and I now own 3 HG top quilts. You can't go wrong with the Burrow! Thanks Adam!
by Larry Nunn – 12th Dec 2013
I have looked for a TQ for a long time, almost 2 years. I just received my Burrow 20 deg long and wide. I am 73 inches tall and 190 lbs. This TQ fits me perfect. The material and craftsmanship is unmatched. Outstanding customer service. I love the snaps and the dew cords on the foot box and the neck. I do how ever feel that if I would have gotten the standard length and with the TQ would have been to small for me. So if you are my size then buy the long / wide version and you will not be disappointed.
by George – 5th Dec 2013
I have used this top quilt for 2 months now. I cannot find one thing to complain about. The fit and finish of this quilt is unparalleled, and I have found the 20 degree rating to be extremely modest, compared to most gear which is optimistic in it's temperature rating. Thank you guys! I will be referring everyone I know to Hammock Gear
by Mark Beard – 21st Nov 2013
I"m a rare ground dweller and I was looking for a light weight option to replace my heavy 2.10Lb sleeping bag, A quilt seemed like a option that was worth trying. By no means did I expect a product sooo nice as the burrow 20, the workmenship is top notch, the weight is feather light, the feel and comfort is unsurpassed, So far I have it down to 42F and was so warm and comfortable that I had a late start that moring because I did't want to get out of my burrow. Thanks again Adam for such a top notch job and GREAT customer service.
Thanks again, Mark

I was looking for a quilt for my hennessey hammock. The burrow 20 is just what i needed. I will also be using it with a neo- air for ground camping. The sewn in loops work great for attaching to a mattress pad. Price was great compared to other similar products. Thanks hammock gear.
by Suede – 24th Oct 2013
Well, not really.. I bought the burrow for my wife to use when we are out together and she LOVES it!! She loves the feel of the argon and it keeps her comfortably warm. I am getting my first turn in a week now that the temps are getting too low for her and I can't wait! It is a beautifully made quilt worth every penny. I am 5'6" and my wife is 5"5" and we went for the short version which fits perfectly! I really love having a length option so there isn't unused length bunching up and just taking up weight/volume in my pack. I'm coming back for an incubator in a few days!!! Also GREAT customer service here!!
by Pieguy – 19th Oct 2013
Purchased the Burrow for a mid October hiking trip in the Sawtooth Wilderness Area in central Idaho. This top quilt is absolutely amazing in its warmth and craftsmanship. Evenings dipped to 20 degrees and I kept warm and toasty (have an HG 0 degree underquilt also) with no laying whatsoever. This quilt has not weight to it and is as light as a feather. The quality is evident from its design to functionality. It feels as though you have nothing on but are toasty warm. Adam also provided great service. I knew I might be pushing it to get it here in time but he was very responsive to my need. I have seen friends under and top quilts from other manufacturers and suffice it to say, I will only be ordering my quilts and tarps from Hammock Gear! Thanks again Adam and staff!
by Seant456s – 16th Oct 2013
Finally got to test this out and I am very impressed with the quality, design and comfort level of this quilt.
Testing the quilt in the hammock in the back yard, The fit is perfect and I would not change a thing.
I mostly hammock camp; however I chose to tent camp since I was with my son this past weekend for a deer hunt who does not have a hammock yet. The temperature outside was 29 - 30 degrees at the lowest, I was using the standard width and length quilt, sewn in foot box with 2 ounces extra down with a Big Agnes 4 foot long insulated pad - feet and legs have no insulation or warmth underneath. I was only wearing very thin hunting gear that is made for heat and no socks, I would compare my clothing to having a sheet in bed; it is very light and airy. My feet normally get cold, even with socks - I wanted to test this quilt to really see what the comfort rating would be for me with somewhat the bare minimum. The quilt kept me warm and the pad was about the same temperature as the quilt. I most definitely noticed when an arm or something became uncovered and had to tuck back in quickly. I got up to put a tee shirt on, but left the socks off half way through the night. Tee shirt was needed since I need a wider version for ground camping.
My only two minor complaints are for ground camping only and would not be noticed or needed in a hammock. One, order the wide if you plan on ground camping as stated in CenAZwalker's review. I am 5'11" 185 with a slight muscular build. The standard width is not enough for ground camping. 2. More of a suggestion than anything else and I think CenAZwalker stated this in the review also, An option for some kind of strap chest height would be nice for ground camping in order to pull the sides in close with out having to hold on to the quilt all night (maybe a wide elastic strip that could be removed with buttons) - not necessary in the hammock. The pad and the quilt were more than comfortable heat wise and the quilt was so light it felt like I did not have anything on except the light hunting gear. I might have noticed some cold in a hammock on my feet with my short pad and no socks - simple fix though : )
I love this quilt and am very happy with the purchase. The price, quality, weight and packed size are that of a sleeping bag much more expensive. There is no beating the comfort level of this quilt with a sleeping bag though - it is way more user friendly in the hammock than any sleeping bag I have seen or heard of. I do not intend to ground camp with it more than a few times a year especially in colder temps although it would have been fine if I had more clothes on or in warmer temps (again, easy fix). I have no doubt that I would have been perfectly fine and much more comfortable for another 10 degrees lower in my hammock.
Thank you Hammock Gear.

This is a very fine quilt. Top notch craftmanship. See below link for a more detailed review.

After extensive research into quilts fabricated by a few manufacturers I settled on Hammock Gear. Why? Simply because they offered the best combination of quality down (900 treated), the lightest weight, and the least expensive cost. Couple that with the outstanding knowledge, flexibility in modifications, and timely responses and you know you will be getting a high quality custom made piece of critical gear.
The quilt arrived exactly 2 weeks from order which was the quoted timeframe. While I have not taken the quilt out for a real world test I can say that the Argon material is impressive in weight(lessness), color and "feel". Many thanks to Adam and his team! They care.

When I opened my box the t/q was everything I have come to expect from HammockGear. Top quality stitching and materials. No shortcuts! It is obvious that this is gear for hangers by hangers. I got the top done in the argon brown. It has a great copper -like tone to it that I really like. If you are considering gear from HammockGear, order with confidence. Adam was easy to work with and the turn around time was great. I ordered the burrow on 8/29 and it was at my door on 9/9.

Based on research, a 20 degree bag is whats recommended for the PCT. So I knew the degree, just had to decide on the style. After learning the sleeping bag material underneath the body provides no insulation, it seemed like dead weight. In addition to this, UL sleeping bags can get really pricey (so can quilts for that matter. But the weight savings in quilts make it worth it!) Western Mountaineering's Ultralight mummy 20 weighs 29oz and costs $420. A quilt isn't what you might think. It resembles a sleeping bag, but is more like a blanket. It has a closed foot box to keep your feet enclosed, but fans out like a blanket.
Its encouraged to layer under a quilt which gives it ultimate versatility. If its warm, you can lift up an edge. If chilly, tuck it underneath. There is no mummy hood so wearing a hat or down hood is a nice option
I narrowed my quilt brand down to:
1) zpacks 20 at 16.7oz ($390),
2) katabatic Alsek 22 at 22oz ($435) or Palisade 30 at 18.2oz ($405)
3) hammock gear Burrow 20 at 20oz ($255)
I spoke with all 3 companies via email and all had great customer service. Katabatic is based out of Colorado and would have loved to support local (even though they are all small cottage companies) Despite temperature ratings from larger mainstream companies, cottage companies tend to be more accurate. Katabatic assured me that the Palisade would perform well on the PCT despite being rated at 30 with proper layering. I didn't understand where katabatic's weight was coming from if zpacks could get a 20 degree bag to weigh 16.7 oz vs their 22oz and 18.2 oz. Katabatic has the best reviews, by far and are known for their innovative sleeping pad attachment system. I thought that these 2 bags were my only choice, until I found hammockgear.com. Though I'm not using a hammock, these quilts are awesome!! You can customize to fit whatever you need and the customer service was great! Z packs quilts looked great but in addition to the hefty price tag it also takes 4-5 weeks to receive your product. Their quilts also don't come with a system to attach to a sleeping pad, which I liked from Katabatic and Hammock Gear. Though HG's attachment system isn't as advanced at Katabatics', its nearly half the price and less weight. HG isn't as well known as the 2 other brands and I'm pretty sure that once they gain popularity, their prices will go up. Katabatic used to be $100-$150 cheaper for the same product a year ago. I have used the quilt 3 times camping in and around Vail, CO and it works phenomenal. My weight came in at 19 oz and I'm very impressed with the stitching and durability.
I purchased the Burrow 20 (19oz)
(Outer Shell Color: ARGON Black, Inner shell Color: ARGON Black, Length: Standard Length 74", Width: Wide 55" (+$20), Footbox Style: Snap closed , Taper: Half Taper, Overfill (oz): Standard Amount) and I couldn't be more happy. I do a ridiculous amount of research before I buy anything and since I live in a place that allows me to test gear in all conditions, I tend to make great decisions.

I used this for the first time on a reacent trip to the Chuckanut Trail in Seattle along with my brand new Standard Cuben Fiber Tarp with doors. See my other review on that page. I had the footbox sewn, and I was a little worried about warmth, so I asked for 1oz overfill. To be honest I don't think I needed it, as this amazingly small packed item kicks out the warmth! I had to roll the beg down, as Seattle did have a warm May when I was out there. It's also better to be in this position than to be too cold though. This thing packs right down, is light weight, and as I said, WARM. The build is as great as the tarp I bought, and I believe it is a great addition to any hammocker. Thanks again Adam and Jen for a great product that was delivered very fast. I will keep a check on other Hammockgear products, as I now know the build quality is great and you have a very friendly service.
