The Dutch Buckle
Specifically designed to replace the marlin spike hitch with a light, faster, and safer method of connecting the whoopie sling to the hammock suspension tree straps.
The secret to making this so light weight is all the force is put on the tree straps and not the buckle. Your Whoopie sling actually be becomes part of the buckle to lock the tree straps in place. With the Whoopie sling going around the tree straps there is much less wear on it and it doesn’t have to make a tight radius.
Once on the buckle the whoopie sling can be easily adjusted and won’t slip off the buckle like it slips off the knot of the marlin spike hitch.
The buckle is completely adjustable so you can quickly slide the buckle up or down to accommodate a wide variety of tree sizes.
As an added feature the Dutch Buckle has a retention shock cord and latch method to keep your tree straps nice and neat when not deployed.

Greeting from Sunny Spain.
My Hammock sports Dutch Buckles and Dutch clips. These work togeather with your whoopy slings to make hanging your hammock a breeze. Quick and easy to setup and use. Very stong and very light, I would not use any other way to hang.
In addition Dutch is a great guy , his customour service is 2nd to none.

I bought this to use with my ENO sub7. It holds the carabiner in place just fine.

I got this because I thought it would be easy to adjust and its not as easy as I hoped. It's not designed to be. It's designed to replace a marlin spike hitch and the spike. I now use it as the spike/toggle. It holds the hitch and the woopie sling. I find it faster and easier to adjust/retired the hitch rather than adjust the strap through the buckle.
I also use it to wrap the tree straps around. The attached bungee keeps the strap from unwrapping. It works fine, I'm not using it as it intended or as I had planned, but I will keep playing with it and using it until I find something I like better.
