About the Burrow Econ 20˚

The Burrow works for both hammockers and ground-dwellers alike. It is a lightweight sleeping quilt that takes the insulation of a traditional sleeping bag and puts it all on the top and sides, leaving the back (which insulation is compressed and unusable anyway) open. Many hammockers use top quilts in lieu of a traditional sleeping bag because they are easier to slide into when it's time to sleep. The Burrow is designed with a half taper, foot box and a cinched top. Comes complete with a stuff sack.

The 20° Burrow Econ is the perfect solution for staying warm in a hammock. With a conservative rating of 20°F, and filled with premium quality, water resistant, 800 fill power Grey Duck Down, it will keep you warm during colder seasons.

Compression Size

The Stuff Sack we ship with this quilt is approximately 5.5 liters, but due to the nature of duck down, it can be compressed further with an aftermarket compression stuff sack.  We do not recommend keeping the quilt compressed for more than 24 hours.  The quilt should be stored in the cotton storage bag provided, when not in use.

I have a few TQ's and UQ's from Hammock Gear and you can't go wrong with their kit. Love the sewn foot box. Have had it into the 30's so far and stayed nice and toasty. Can't wait to take it lower.

This is my first quilt. I bought it for my Warbonnet Blackbird, which I love. I have an underquilt for it from another company (though plan to buy a Hammock Gear Incubator when my budget allows it), but needed a top quilt quickly for a trip up near Mt Katahdin in September, so I went with a stock quilt for fast shipping (and fast it was -- great customer service with a smile, quickly addressed my questions even while the person doing it was on vacation (!).

Simply put, the Burrow Econ 20 is a quality piece of kit. I have nothing but good say about it: great materials, well-made, clean stitching, fine loft. I'm a relatively cold sleeper, so I'll only push my Burrow to around freezing (but can take it a bit lower using extra insulation, including a woobie over my legs and feet).

And I appreciate the minor additions that really increase it's functionality: snap to create a collar; draw string (that works great also binered to the ridgeline to keep the mouth open and accessible), and some extra rings sewn in where a sleeping bag's zipper would be that allows cinching it up if you wish.

Hammock Gear produces an exceptionally fine piece of gear at an unbeatable price. I highly recommend Hammock Gear.
