Wasp (Single)

$9.00

Quantity:

Wasp (Single)

2 grams each, you won't notice these on your ridgeline... Same easy connection as the tarp Flyz and Stingerz using 1.75 hollow braid line only you can freely move it to any position and lock it on  your ridgeline.  We sell them individually so you can build a continuous ridgeline with a Dutch Hook on the other end or you can have them on each end with two seperate lines.  Made from titanium and of course, MADE IN THE USA

  • perfect tensionable loop

    by Joe Walp – 23rd Apr 2018

Paired with 1.75 mm hollow braided Dyneema cord, a Wasp tensioner can be relocated on the cord quickly and can tension a loop easily. I use one on a continuous ridge line for a tarp. And I use two on a pair of guy lines that share the load from one end of a hammock when I'm hanging from a single tree. The combination of Dyneema and Wasp works so well for tensioning because the smooth cord slides easily through the hook of the Wasp. That hook acts as a pulley to give 2x mechanical advantage. No complaints. They're great.

Incidentally, I think that they'd be overkill for tent or tarp guy lines. For that I use a more textured non-Dyneema cord that can be tensioned using a taut line hitch.

  • Great....but

The wasp is great, easy to use and a light item. There is just one problem when I try to take the the Zing-it line out from under the wing it is difficult to remove.

  • awsome with one problem

    by Jon – 30th Apr 2017

The wasp works great but after I lock it in place, unlocking the line frays the cord. One time it actually ripped the sheathing off and I'm using a 1.5mm cord. I still love the product and hopefully I can find a strong enough (lightweight) cord that won't fray.

  • Don't buy unless you like 1.75mm string

    by Glenn McCorkle – 16th Sep 2015

The description said it uses 1.75mm line but didn't say that's all you can use. I asked for a refund but never got a reply back.

    Response from Hammock Gear:
Sorry for the mixup Glenn, your email wound up in our spam folder for some reason. Prepaid return label is on its way to you now, your refund will be issued as soon as the items arrive.
